TB/HIV CONSULTANT: PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA

Position Description: As the TB/HIV Consultant you will be responsible for providing support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of Organization- South Africa. The primary objective is to provide contractor services and deliverables through performance of tasks to address integration of TB and HIV services among PEPFAR-funded partners and to impact mortality and quality of life of persons infected with TB and HIV. Scope of Work shall not include patient care or treatment and shall not involve direct contact with blood, bodily fluids or any patient samples.
Description of Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to implement activities in support of the Organization’s South Africa TB/HIV strategic vision.
- Provide technical guidance to the South Africa local staff members on issues surrounding TB and HIV/AIDS.
- Liaison with the South African National and Provincial departments of Health, Organization’s technical staff on issues surrounding TB and HIV/AIDS.
- Consult with implementing partners for PEPFAR regarding issues of TB and HIV/AIDS.
- Monitoring of PEPFAR implementing partner TB/HIV work plans and execution.
- Provide inputs on the allocation of resources for ongoing TB/HIV programming.
Salary Grade: Varies upon experience
Location of Position: Pretoria, South Africa
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters in Public Health.
- At least 2 years of experience dealing with TB/HIV issues in PEPFAR countries.
- Experience in an international setting is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to produce written reports and use basic data management software packages.
- Personnel management skills and ability to build good working relationships with national and provincial health department staff.
- Must be able to travel within South Africa to complete certain tasks.
